Hehir's Transport has proudly been providing freight solutions across South Eastern Australia for over five decades. Our fleet currently consists of twelve late model Kenworth Prime Movers, with 15 B-Double tippers and 4 single configurations available to our clients.
All our vehicles are accredited under the Trucksafe and NHVAS Maintenance and Mass schemes. This ensures maximum payloads on well-maintained vehicles.
Our vehicles are GPS tracked ensuring logistics staff are aware of their locations providing reliable and efficient freight services at all times.
We also utilise a number of reliable sub-contractors and tow operators to assist in moving larger volumes at any time of the year.
our history
Hehir’s Transport Pty Ltd is a second generation family owned business which has been operating from Rand, in southern NSW since 1954.
The business was established in Rand by two brothers, Jack and Tom with 1 truck locally freighting livestock, bagged grain and goods including kegs of beer to the local hotels.
We now specialize in transporting bulk commodities all over south eastern Australia by our fleet currently consisting of 12 late model prime movers with aluminum B-double tippers. Permanent tow operators and sub-contractors enable movements of large volumes of freight at any time of the year. Freight consists mostly of farm commodities typically grain, fertilizer, gypsum and lime.
In 1999 we diversified into private grain storage with a modern complex currently accommodating 60,000 tonnes of grain in sealed silos and bunkers. Canola, barley and wheat is stored for local growers at harvest and either sold or warehoused throughout the year. Our dedicated grain services team also currently manage Rand and Brocklesby Graincorp facilities providing employment for up to an additional 35 staff during the harvest season.
The company has been owned and managed by Ross and Andrea Hehir since 1993 and together with Rand Ag & Fertilizer currently employs a team of 20 full time staff. We are dedicated to providing a professional, reliable and prompt service of transporting bulk commodities to our customers all over south eastern Australia. Our staff are ‘hand-picked’ with more than half of our full time staff being employed for over 10 years.
We proudly hold accreditation under the Trucksafe and NHVAS Maintenance, Mass and Fatigue schemes. These programs are audited every 2 years by accredited external auditors to ensure compliance with strict industry guidelines.
